Tasks App
Overview
- Tasks is a client for your device's native Reminders and Calendar data. It does not maintain a separate user account system or store your task/calendar content on our servers.
Data Collection & Usage
- Reminders & Calendar Events: The app reads and writes data directly to the Apple Reminders and Calendar databases on your device (via Apple's native frameworks). This data is used solely to allow task and schedule management within the app.
- No Tasks Backend: We do not operate a backend service that stores your tasks, calendar events, or notes. Your Reminders/Calendar data may sync through the accounts you have configured on your device (e.g., iCloud, Exchange).
- Export / Backup: The app can export a JSON backup file for sharing or safekeeping. If you choose to export/share a backup, the data goes to the destination you select.
- Analytics & Crash Reports: We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to collect usage metrics and crash diagnostics to help identify bugs and improve app performance. The app has no user accounts; this data is associated with an app/device instance and is not intended to include your task or calendar content.
Permissions
- Reminders: Required to create, read and update tasks in your Apple Reminders lists.
- Calendar: Required to display your scheduled events alongside your tasks for planning purposes.
- Notifications: Used to deliver local alerts for tasks (local notifications).
Data Sharing
- We do not sell your data.
- We share limited analytics and crash/diagnostic data with Firebase (Google) as a service provider. Your task/calendar content is otherwise shared only via the accounts you configure on your device and any destinations you choose when exporting/sharing.
Retention & Deletion
- Tasks & Calendar data: Tasks/Projects are stored in Apple Reminders. Calendar events stay with your calendar provider. Delete content in Tasks or in Apple Reminders/Calendar. Uninstalling the app may not delete these items.
- Backups / exports: Backup files are saved/shared only when you choose. Delete them from wherever you saved them (e.g., Files).
- Analytics & crash diagnostics: Firebase retains analytics/crash data per its policies. Because Tasks has no user accounts, we can't reliably identify Firebase data for a specific user/device for deletion. Uninstalling the app stops further collection.
Your Choices / Revoking Consent
- You can revoke Reminders, Calendar, and Notification permissions at any time in iOS/macOS System Settings.
- There is no in-app switch to disable Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics. Uninstalling the app stops further collection.
